Barrister (Mrs) Bernadette Uzoamaka Eyisi Founder/Chairman

The Visionary

This Foundation is just a very modest attempt to help out with the work of the Lord by seeking for and finding avenues to touch lives in little ways and as much as one could feasibly do. The inspiration behind the BEF vision comes from multi-faceted origins. For one, the founder, Barrister (Mrs) Bernadette Eyisi had an upbringing that witnessed at first-hand, a life time of giving and support to people of various backgrounds by both parents, especially the late mother, Mrs. Janet Madu (popularly called America). Then came marriage and she had the special fortune of joining hands with Chief Simeon Eyisi, a man so naturally given to giving and supporting others that his Neni people game him the traditional title of ‘Omeluora’ (He who does things for the people!). And so, for Barrister (Mrs) Eyisi, the life of giving just went on to another level.
Having learnt from both sides of her family life and considering herself so favoured by God in different ways, she consistently sought for ways to help and support people in need, irrespective of gender, religion, age or even the slightest knowledge of who they were or where they come from. But then, given the realization that she could no longer cope with the time and attention needed to be of a more meaningful assistance to all the people in need both in her native locality and beyond, she decided to set up a more formal structure that could render her desired service to God more than she could have done on her own. Moreover, it also became necessary to have a more coordinated and monitored approach to all the disparate and diverse efforts she has been making in order to make their impact in people’s lives and the society at large better felt.
